Wanted to share some photos of Guitar # 2 & 3. Number 2 as I'm calling it is Cocobolo, #3 is EIR. Let me know what you think. You may remember I posted a picture of the Cocobolo with a back seam, I cut it out, re-jointed etc. and came up with this one. I know it has some of the wild grain in the center instead of all quartersawn as I had it before, but it sure looks pretty. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks guys, The Coco is beautiful, actually the EIR is an amazing piece as well, it doesn't show that nice on the picture, but it is beautiful. Both guitars will be 13 fret to the body 000 size(kind of) I made up the depth at both ends which is a bit deeper than typical 000 guitars. My first guitar was this design and it sounded so good I decided to do it again with some slight modifications. The first one was Black Walnut so it will be interesting to see what the Rosewood will sound like in comparison. |

Greg, you know, you are right, that Indian is very reminiscent of the stuff we got from Cochin India. Oh, isn't thirteen an unlucky number? ![]() |

Greg, they are both just so gorgeous ![]() Are you planning on experimenting different types of bracing on each ? Serge |

Yes, I'm going to experiment a little bit with the bracing. I believe I made the first one a tad heavy, the braces that is, so this one will be lighter for sure. I used parabolic type braces for the front and back, I'll do the same on these. I'm thinking about X bracing the back on one of them and double X bracing one of the tops. I don't want to deviate too much because the first one turned out pretty nice, but I'm always thinking it can be better....sickness isn't it. |
